Arts Mentorship Programming

Arts Studio Program Care center's arts programming involves various art mediums such as sculpting, painting, drawing, print making and performance art. Though creativity, youth develop their artistic and creative talents and skills and empower themselves to make positive changes toward healthy life choices. Youth exhibit their art pieces in various venues facilitated by our art programming staff.
Music Studio Program/Hip Hop CD Production Care center's music programming encourages the youth to write, compose and perform their songs, raps or beats. Often the music speaks to their experiences on the street or in life. CD production is possible if a youth wishes to record their music for sale. Music video production has recently been added to the opportunities for youth expression through music. Outside performances done by the youth showcase musical talent to the community.
Fashion Studio Program In fashion youth draw, design and sew their fashion pieces or dance regalia. Activities include a monthly photo-shoot and styling session with many layers of youth participation including make-up, hair, styling and modelling under the guidance of professional photography. In the past youth have participated in different Fashion Weeks including, modelling and youth recognition in the emerging designer category. Often fashion accessory line is for sale to the general public.
Video, Dance and Drama A video production pilot program is launching lately with support from Arts Councils. During the pilot youth will learn video production skills which will help with video storytelling of their journey. Dance is a volunteer driven activity. This includes hip hop and street moves covering a wide range of styles like breaking, locking, and popping.
