Revitalize Inner City

Securing a permanent home (our 22,000 square foot studio building renovation) will allow us to deliver our essential services with more continuity and stability for our clientele – leading to a stronger inner city, committed community engagement and a safer, caring productive society.

Optimism. Action. Change.

By helping others we also help ourselves – the result being a safer, caring and productive society. The arts can contribute to neighbourhood renewal and make a positive difference to health, crime, employment and education in deprived communities such as our inner city. They also play a vital role in developing an individual’s potential and self-confidence and help to build positive links within and between communities in?Edmonton.

Circle of life

A Long-term Vision for iHuman.

The future of iHuman is about sharing our successful program model and inspiring our youth to become leaders in our community. By increasing iHuman’s capacity to serve more youth while activating social innovation in community – we will be able to identify, support and empower more outstanding youth leaders like Melissa, Cory, Jamie and others.

The added capacity of empowered youth will create more compelling futures for themselves by positively impacting their peers and community. This will also will help break the cycle made from the imperfections in our social fabric such as poverty, homelessness, addictions, mental health issues, gang affiliations, abuse and violence. An increased number of empowered youth mentors can help by advocating preventative and positive change in challenged communities to their peer groups, as well as to young families and 6-12 year old children who may be potential at-risk youth.

Testimonials

They're really on the leading-edge of understanding the problems that kids face and reaching out to them – in an environment and in a way that allows the younger generation to see and to look at them with trust and comfort. So hopefully that will allow the kids to be successful.
Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel
In providing youth with support we can change the trajectory of their life – so they can have healthy family relationships and can parent their children and the next generation. One of the best parts of my job is being able to tell youth that I'm proud of them.
Catherine Broomfield, Executive Director iHuman
Creativity is the spark of life; it identities us all as vital human beings. Youth facing tremendous challenges have to be creative to survive. iHuman respectfully redirects their creative energies into positive pathways. iHuman eliminates boundaries, making the impossible, possible.
Sandra Bromley co-founder iHuman
